Holly House Introduces New All-Weather Outdoor Play Area

Holly House has invested nearly £50,000 to create a new all weather outdoor play area. This includes 280sqm of artificial grass, 30sqm of shelter, as well as extensive outdoor play equipment to further enhance the already outstanding facilities at the nursery.

What a wonderful graduation party at Holly House!

The pre-school children at Holly House attended a party to celebrate their graduation to school. Elaine the manager said, "We will miss you all and know that your next adventure at school will be amazing!" Thank you to the Oaks team for all of their dedication, hard work, and making the day so special for the children.

The First Ofsted Inspection of Holly House Day Nursery

We are pleased to announce that we had our first Ofsted inspection on April 3 ^rd 2024. The inspector spent the full day on site and summarised that the nursery was ‘Good’ in all areas!

Thank you to the parents who were present on the day and took the time to speak to the inspector. Jonathon Woodhead, Director said, “We are thrilled to announce that we received a ‘Good’ across the 4 areas of learning, and this is a huge achievement after only 2 years of opening.”

The inspector found that children’s communication and language skills were exemplary, a real love of books, songs and rhymes were evident in all rooms, practitioners followed children’s interests, enabling children to develop their own learning, self-care and independence skills. Problem-solving skills were embedded throughout all aspects of daily routines, with early science, knowledge and understanding of the world and creative arts all part of the Holly House curriculum. Practitioners follow children’s interests, which further develops children’s learning, ensuring consistency and extending knowledge. All staff have extensive knowledge of Safeguarding, have Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Certificates, and have undertook a rigorous induction, all of which the inspector praised.

Elaine Murray, Nursery Manager said, “We are so very proud to achieve this grade, and know that we have an amazing, highly skilled, dedicated, and nurturing team. Thank you to all our wonderful staff!” Even Pam, the nursery chef received a mention, with the inspector commenting on the high quality of our nutritious meals.

The Biggest Ever Childcare Expansion in England

If your child turns two on or before 31st March, and you are an eligible working parent in England, you can apply for up to 15 hours childcare or early education per week, over 38 weeks of the year.

This is the first stage of the biggest ever childcare expansion in England, so parents can juggle the job they want whilst also being a parent.

The deadline to apply is 31st March. We recommend you do so by the end of February to get the required childcare code in good time.

Holly House will accept all 2 year olds with the new funding code, subject to availability.

To continue receiving the government support, parents need to reconfirm their details every three months on their gov.uk account.

You can use the 15 hours childcare alongside other childcare schemes such as Tax-Free Childcare or Universal Credit Childcare.

As Holly House celebrates two years since opening, we would like to thank all of our customers, past and present, for their continued support and kind words about the nursery. The nursery is now running at capacity on most days, with a waiting list in place of upto 6 months for some sessions. If you are looking for childcare with us please allow sufficient time and plan ahead.

Holly House Nursery Signs 100th Customer After 5 Months of Opening

We are pleased to announce that today we have reached the milestone of signing our 100th customer since we opened 5 months ago. Holly House Day Nursery - Opens January 4 ^th 2022

Following our registration with Ofsted in December we are pleased to announce the opening of Holly House Day Nursery on the 4 ^th January 2022.

Building Work is Now at Full Speed

The nursery development is now at full speed with all wall structures in and roof trusses added with the intention of making it watertight within the next 2 weeks.
